Islamabad United Trade Mohammad Wasim Jr to Multan Sultans
The Mohammad Wasim Jr trade ahead of Pakistan Super League 11 has seen Islamabad United send the right-arm pacer to Multan Sultans in exchange for Salman Mirza and Nisar Ahmed.
The trade was confirmed on Saturday as teams continued to finalise their squads before PSL 11, which is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.
Wasim Jr had earlier been released by Quetta Gladiators ahead of the PSL player auction. Islamabad United later picked him up in the Released Bowlers category for Rs41 million.
However, the three-time champions have now decided to part ways with the 24-year-old fast bowler and bring in Salman Mirza instead.
Mirza had been retained in the Diamond category by Sialkot Stallionz for Rs39.2 million before the franchise changes ahead of the upcoming PSL season.
To balance the salary cap difference between the players, Islamabad United also secured the services of emerging batter Nisar Ahmed, who was valued at Rs60 million.
Islamabad United announced the trade on social media.
“We wish Wasim the very best of luck at Multan Sultans as we welcome Salman Mirza & Nisar Ahmed,” the franchise wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while sharing a graphic confirming the trade agreement with the Sultans.
Second trade involving Multan Sultans
This deal marks the second trade involving Multan Sultans ahead of PSL 11.
Earlier, the franchise completed a player exchange with Quetta Gladiators, bringing in Ahmed Daniyal and Jahanzaib Sultan.
In return, Multan Sultans sent Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas to the Gladiators as teams continue to reshape their squads ahead of the tournament.
