Mustafizur Rahman NOC withdrawn from PSL 2026

Mustafizur Rahman during PSL match before NOC withdrawal by BCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has withdrawn the No Objection Certificates for Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana, ruling both players out of the remainder of PSL 2026.

Mustafizur Rahman, who had been representing Lahore Qalandars, and Nahid Rana, who featured for Peshawar Zalmi, returned home earlier for the Bangladesh-New Zealand ODI series. Following the third ODI, the board confirmed that neither player would return to the tournament.

Injury concern ends Mustafizur’s campaign

Mustafizur’s participation has been cut short due to a knee injury sustained after his PSL stint. He missed the first two ODIs against New Zealand before returning in the third match in Chattogram, where he claimed a five-wicket haul.

“It has been decided that the player will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition,” the BCB said in a statement. “After which he will commence a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB medical team.”

As part of that process, the board formally withdrew his NOC, making him unavailable for the rest of PSL 2026.

Rana rested despite strong showing

Nahid Rana’s withdrawal comes as part of workload management decisions. The BCB confirmed that Rana, along with Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, will be rested for the first two T20Is against New Zealand starting next week.

Rana had made a strong impression during his PSL stint with Peshawar Zalmi, taking seven wickets in four matches at an economy rate of 5.42, including a four-wicket haul.

Mustafizur also contributed for Lahore Qalandars, claiming six wickets in five matches at an economy rate of 7.17.

Schedule ahead for both players

Rana is next expected to feature in Bangladesh’s Test series against Pakistan in May. Mustafizur Rahman is likely to be involved in the white-ball series against Australia in June.

The withdrawal of Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana leaves Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi without two active contributors for the remainder of PSL 2026. With both players returning to national commitments and injury management, their exits reshape squad availability during a crucial phase of the tournament.
