PSL 11 playoffs set: full line-up confirmed

Islamabad United players celebrating PSL 11 win in Karachi

The PSL 11 playoffs lineup was finalised after Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans by four wickets in the final league-stage match at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The result reshaped the top-two positions and locked in the knockout fixtures.

Although the four qualifying teams were already confirmed earlier following Hyderabad Kingsmen’s 108-run win over RawalPindiz, the final standings depended on this match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.

United clinch second with composed chase

After opting to field first, Islamabad United restricted Multan Sultans to 192 for 7 in their 20 overs through a collective bowling effort.

Chasing 193, United completed the target with six wickets down and eight balls to spare. The controlled chase ensured they secured second place on the PSL 11 points table.

That finish proved decisive, as it set up a direct route to the final through the Qualifier.

Playoff matchups confirmed

With the result, Islamabad United will face table-toppers Peshawar Zalmi in the Qualifier, scheduled at the National Bank Stadium on Tuesday.

Multan Sultans dropped to third place and will now take on Hyderabad Kingsmen in Eliminator 1 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

The playoff structure now follows a clear path. The winner of the Qualifier between Zalmi and United advances directly to the final.

Road to the final in Lahore

The losing side of the Qualifier will get another opportunity, facing the winner of Eliminator 1 in Eliminator 2, set to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium on May 1.

The winner of Eliminator 2 will then meet the Qualifier winner in the PSL 11 final, scheduled for May 3 in Lahore.

This sequence ensures that the top-two teams carry a significant advantage, while the third and fourth-placed sides must navigate two knockout matches to reach the final.

Islamabad United’s victory did more than secure a win — it reshaped the playoff bracket by confirming second place and a Qualifier berth against Peshawar Zalmi.

Multan Sultans, despite posting 192, now face a more difficult route through the Eliminator. Hyderabad Kingsmen’s earlier big-margin win also proved crucial, as it ultimately pushed Lahore Qalandars out and completed the final four lineup.
