Faisalabad Beat Bahawalpur in National T20 Cup Clash

Faisalabad secured their first win of the National T20 Cup 2026 after defeating Bahawalpur by six wickets in the ninth match at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar on Wednesday.

The National T20 Cup match saw Faisalabad produce a strong all-round performance. Their bowlers restricted Bahawalpur before Atiq-ur-Rehman guided the run chase with a match-winning half-century.

Bahawalpur post 158 after opting to bat

Bahawalpur captain Muhammad Imran chose to bat first, but the decision did not produce the desired result as his side were bowled out for 158 in 19.5 overs.

Opener Mohammad Faizan Zafar was the top scorer with 36 runs from 27 deliveries, hitting four fours and two sixes.

Middle-order batters Daniyal Hussain Rajput and Mohammad Sarwar Afridi also made useful contributions with scores of 25 and 22 respectively.

Zaman Khan led the Faisalabad bowling attack with figures of three wickets for 30 runs in 3.5 overs.

He received support from Momin Qamar and Afaq Afridi, who claimed two wickets each, while Mubasir Khan and Shehzad Gul picked up one wicket apiece.

Atiq-ur-Rehman leads Faisalabad chase

Faisalabad comfortably chased the 159-run target, reaching it with four wickets down and 13 balls remaining to register their first victory in the National T20 Cup 2026.

The standout performer in the chase was opener Atiq-ur-Rehman, who produced a superb innings of 94 from 51 deliveries.

His knock included 15 fours and one six and earned him the Player of the Match award.

Atiq also built a crucial 93-run partnership for the third wicket with Muhammad Awais Zafar, who contributed 25 from 24 balls with one four and one six.

Asif Ali and captain Muhammad Irfan Khan finished the chase with unbeaten cameos of 14 and 11 respectively to seal the victory.

For Bahawalpur, Mohammad Basit was the most successful bowler with impressive figures of three wickets for 23 runs in his four overs, while Mohammad Azab claimed one wicket.
