
Peshawar Zalmi Sign Shoriful Islam for PSL 11
Shoriful Islam PSL signing sees Peshawar Zalmi strengthen their squad ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.
Former champions Peshawar Zalmi announced the signing of Bangladesh left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam on Monday as a direct signing for PSL 11.
The franchise revealed the news through its official social media platforms, sharing an animated poster of the pacer wearing Zalmi’s jersey and seated on an ornate throne alongside Bengal Tigers.
“The Yellow Storm just got stronger with your arrival! Bangladesh express left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam is ready to unleash the Pakistan Super League in yellow,” Zalmi captioned their post.
Shoriful set for maiden PSL appearance
Shoriful Islam has been a key figure in Bangladesh men’s cricket team across formats since making his international debut in 2021.
He has represented Bangladesh in 14 Tests, 40 ODIs and 59 T20Is so far.
The left-arm pacer also brings vast T20 experience, having played 156 matches and taken 195 wickets at an average of 22.27 and an economy rate of 8.22.
In the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), he is regarded as one of the top performers and ranks among the top 10 leading wicket-takers in the tournament’s history, with 87 wickets in 60 innings at an average of 20.35.
His upcoming stint with Peshawar Zalmi will mark his first-ever appearance in the PSL.
Zalmi continue to build squad
Earlier on the same day, Peshawar Zalmi also signed emerging left-arm seamer Muhammad Basit as part of their preparations for PSL 11.
The upcoming edition will feature eight teams and will be played across six venues in Pakistan for the first time.
Zalmi are scheduled to begin their PSL 11 campaign on March 28 against Pindiz at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.
