
Fatima Sana Nominated for ICC Women’s Player of the Month
Fatima Sana has been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for February 2026 after delivering impressive all-round performances during Pakistan’s tour against South Africa.
The International Cricket Council announced the nominees on Monday, with Pakistan captain Fatima Sana joined by Sri Lanka’s top-order batter Harshitha Samarawickrama and India seamer Arundhati Reddy.
Fatima Sana produced several strong performances during the tour despite Pakistan narrowly losing both the ODI and T20I series 2-1.
The Pakistan captain made her biggest impact in the T20I series, where she emerged as the leading run-scorer.
She scored 146 runs at an outstanding average of 73.00 and a strike rate of 184.81.
Her standout performance came in the first T20I where she played a brilliant knock of 90.
Sana followed that innings with an unbeaten 47 and bowling figures of 2 for 12 in the third match, earning the Player of the Match award.
She also contributed significantly in the ODI series.
Fatima Sana scored a crucial 52 and picked up two important wickets in the second ODI.
Across the tour, she claimed four wickets in the ODI series and two wickets in the T20I matches.
Harshitha Samarawickrama shines in ODI series
Sri Lanka batter Harshitha Samarawickrama also earned a nomination after a productive ODI series in the Caribbean.
The left-hander played a key role in Sri Lanka’s 2-1 series victory over the West Indies.
Samarawickrama finished as the leading run-scorer in the series with 171 runs in three innings at an average of 57.00.
Her consistent performances included scores of 66, 35 and 70.
These crucial contributions helped Sri Lanka secure the series win and also earned her the Player of the Series award.
Arundhati Reddy leads India bowling attack
India fast bowler Arundhati Reddy was also nominated after spearheading India’s bowling attack in their historic T20I series victory in Australia.
The right-arm seamer finished as the leading wicket-taker in the three-match series.
Reddy claimed eight wickets at an impressive average of 10.87 and maintained an economy rate of 7.25.
She delivered impactful spells in all three matches, returning figures of 4 for 22, 2 for 30 and 2 for 35.
Her ability to pick up crucial wickets played a major role in India securing a 2-1 series victory over Australia.
