Abdullah Shafique scores 96 for Sialkot against Abbottabad

The Sialkot vs Abbottabad clash in the National T20 Cup 2026 ended with Sialkot securing a comfortable 31-run victory in the 15th match of the tournament at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar on Saturday.

Half-centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Hasan Nawaz, followed by a four-wicket haul from captain Usama Mir, powered Sialkot to their second win in the competition.

After being asked to bat first by Abbottabad captain Khalid Usman, the former champions posted a strong total of 202/6 in their 20 overs.

Sialkot suffered an early setback when Shahab Khan removed both openers Mirza Tahir Baig and Khawaja Arham, reducing them to 25/2.

Abdullah Shafique then joined Hasan Nawaz in the middle, and the pair completely shifted the momentum with a massive 145-run partnership for the third wicket.

Abdullah was the standout batter for Sialkot, smashing 96 from 54 deliveries. His innings featured seven sixes and four fours.

Hasan Nawaz provided excellent support with a 34-ball 57, striking nine boundaries including three sixes.

Despite the strong partnership, Shahab Khan produced an impressive bowling performance for Abbottabad, finishing with a five-wicket haul for 25 runs in his four overs. Shadab Khan claimed the remaining wicket.

Usama Mir leads Sialkot bowling attack

Chasing a target of 203, Abbottabad were unable to keep up with the required rate and were eventually bowled out for 171 in their 20 overs.

Wicketkeeper batter Sajjad Ali Hashmi top-scored for Abbottabad with 40 from 37 deliveries.

Atizaz Khan contributed 28, while Razaullah added 25 as Abbottabad attempted to keep the chase alive.

Sialkot captain Usama Mir led from the front with the ball, taking four wickets for 42 runs in his four overs.

He received strong support from Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti, Mohammad Ali and Shoaib Akhtar Jnr, who each picked up two wickets.

The victory marked Sialkot’s second win in the National T20 Cup 2026.

Their final group-stage match will take place at the same venue on Monday against Multan.
