
Akhlaq’s 48 Powers Lahore Whites Past Faisalabad
In a rain-disrupted encounter in the National T20 Cup 2026, Lahore Whites secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over Faisalabad at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar on Monday.
The match saw several interruptions due to rain, which led to multiple reductions in playing time.
Rain repeatedly shortens contest
After Faisalabad were asked to bat first, the game began with a delayed start and was initially shortened to 16 overs per side.
However, rain halted play again with Faisalabad on 42 for 3 after 4.1 overs, forcing officials to reduce the match to 13 overs per side.
A second interruption occurred later when Faisalabad had reached 105 for 7 in 9.5 overs, which resulted in the match being cut down further to 10 overs per side.
Despite the disruptions, Faisalabad finished with 106 for 7 in their allotted 10 overs.
Mubasir Khan boosts Faisalabad total
The late momentum came from Mubasir Khan, who produced a quickfire innings down the order.
Batting at No.8, Mubasir scored 26 off just 10 deliveries, hitting one four and three sixes.
Earlier in the innings, Mohammad Faizan had provided an aggressive start with 21 from 11 balls, striking one four and two sixes.
Additional contributions came from Attiq ur Rehman (14) and Asim Ali Nasir along with Irfan Khan Niazi, both scoring 11 runs each.
For Lahore Whites, Ahmed Daniyal delivered the most effective bowling performance, finishing with 3 for 17 in two overs.
Ubaid Shah supported well with two wickets, while Mohammad Rameez claimed one wicket.
Akhlaq anchors Lahore chase
Chasing a revised target, Lahore Whites approached the task confidently with their openers setting up the victory.
Muhammad Akhlaq led the way with a superb 48 from 28 balls, an innings that featured eight fours and one six.
His opening partner Muhammad Faiq played an explosive knock of 32 off 13 balls, striking two fours and three sixes.
Faiq had earlier dominated the fifth over bowled by Mohammad Zeeshan, smashing 26 runs, including three sixes and two fours from the first five deliveries, before being dismissed on the final ball of the over.
Lahore seal victory comfortably
Further contributions came from Tayyab Tahir and Farhan Yousaf, who both scored 10 runs each.
Captain Aamir Jamal completed the chase in style by hitting a boundary off the first ball he faced.
Lahore Whites eventually reached the target in 9.4 overs, finishing with four wickets down to secure a convincing win.
For Faisalabad, Mubasir Khan picked up two wickets, while Mohammad Faizan and Mohammad Zeeshan claimed one wicket each.
