Islamabad United Beat Karachi Kings in PSL 11 Clash
Islamabad United produced a clinical all-round display to defeat Karachi Kings by eight wickets in PSL 11 at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi. In this Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings clash, the chase of 151 was completed with ease, as the visitors reached the target with 24 balls to spare.
Half-centuries from Sameer Minhas and Devon Conway ensured a smooth pursuit after a disciplined bowling effort had earlier restricted the Kings.
United bowlers keep Kings to 150
After being asked to bat first, Karachi Kings posted 150 for 6 in their 20 overs, recovering from an early setback.
Saad Baig, promoted to open, fell early for 6 to Richard Gleeson with just seven runs on the board. Jason Roy and Reeza Hendricks then rebuilt the innings with a 62-run stand off 39 deliveries.
Roy scored 39 off 27 balls, including three fours and two sixes, marking his return after more than a year away from the PSL. Hendricks played a steady hand throughout, finishing unbeaten on 51 off 44 balls with four boundaries.
Shadab Khan broke the partnership by dismissing Hendricks in the ninth over and followed it up with the wicket of Salman Ali Agha for 4, reducing Kings to 77-3.
Hendricks later added 54 runs for the fourth wicket with Azam Khan before Gleeson returned to remove him in the 18th over. Faheem Ashraf dismissed Khushdil Shah for 2, but late contributions from Moeen Ali (8) helped Kings push past 150.
Gleeson and Shadab led the bowling effort with two wickets each, while Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Hasnain picked up one apiece.
Minhas and Conway dominate chase
Chasing 151, Islamabad United made a commanding start through Sameer Minhas and Devon Conway, who put on 93 runs for the opening wicket in 10 overs.
Minhas led the charge with an aggressive 58 off 36 deliveries, striking 10 fours before being stumped off Moeen Ali at the end of the 10th over.
Mohammad Faiq followed soon after, scoring 5 before falling to Hasan Ali, briefly slowing United’s progress.
Conway, however, held firm and anchored the innings with an unbeaten 53 off 36 balls, hitting six fours and a six.
Shadab finishes in style
Shadab Khan joined Conway and ensured there were no further hiccups. The pair added an unbroken 43-run partnership to seal the win in 16 overs.
Shadab contributed a quickfire 31 not out off 16 deliveries, including two sixes and a four, as United completed a dominant chase.
For Karachi Kings, Moeen Ali and Hasan Ali were the only wicket-takers.
United strengthen campaign
This comprehensive win highlights Islamabad United’s balance, with contributions across both departments proving decisive.
Their strong top-order batting combined with disciplined bowling makes them a formidable side in PSL 11. For Karachi Kings, inconsistency with both bat and ball continues to hinder their progress in the tournament.
