Early setbacks in chase
Hyderabad’s chase began shakily as Asif Afridi removed Maaz Sadaqat for 4 in the opening over.
Marnus Labuschagne and Saim Ayub briefly steadied the innings, but Afridi struck again to dismiss Saim for 15, leaving Kingsmen at 28-2. Usman Khan followed soon after, falling to Mohammad Amir for a duck, increasing the pressure.
Labuschagne attempted to anchor the innings but was trapped lbw by Saad Masood for 32 off 21 balls, including six boundaries, with the score at 68-4. Glenn Maxwell then fell for a first-ball duck to Ben Sears, leaving Kingsmen in trouble at five down.
Perera and Irfan seal the chase
With the innings at a delicate stage, Kusal Perera and Irfan Khan Niazi combined to turn the game around.
The pair stitched together a crucial 50-run partnership, calmly taking Kingsmen past the 100-run mark. Perera remained unbeaten on 32 off 24 balls, hitting three fours and a six, while Irfan contributed 34 off 29 deliveries, also striking three fours and a six.
Their partnership ensured there were no further hiccups as Hyderabad completed the chase in 16.3 overs.
Kingsmen maintain momentum
This victory reinforces Hyderabad Kingsmen’s strong position in PSL 11, with consistent performances in both bowling and batting driving their winning run.
Their ability to recover from early setbacks and control matches highlights their balance as a side. For RawalPindiz, ongoing struggles with both bat and ball continue to impact their campaign.
