
T20 World Cup Prize Money Breakdown
The T20 World Cup prize money distribution for the 2026 edition has been officially confirmed by the International Cricket Council, with a total purse of US$11.25 million shared among participating teams.
India, who defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final, claimed the largest share of the T20 World Cup prize money after lifting their record third title.
The co-hosts earned $2,639,423 for winning the tournament, while runners-up New Zealand received $1,422,692.
South Africa, who finished among the semi-finalists, were the only other side to cross the million-dollar mark as they secured $1,005,577.
England, the other semi-finalist, earned $974,423 for their run to the last four.
Super Eights teams and earnings
Two-time champions West Indies collected the largest payout among teams eliminated in the Super Eights stage.
Their campaign ended after a defeat against eventual champions India in the high-stakes Super Eights match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and they earned $538,269.
Pakistan secured the sixth-largest share of the T20 World Cup prize money. The 2009 champions received $522,692 after reaching the Super Eights stage.
Zimbabwe also enjoyed a memorable tournament campaign, including a notable victory over Australia. They earned $491,538.
Co-hosts Sri Lanka followed closely with prize earnings of $475,962.
Group-stage teams and prize distribution
The 2021 champions Australia, alongside Afghanistan and the United States of America, each received $309,808 after exiting the 20-team tournament during the group stage.
Scotland and Ireland, both of whom registered one win during the tournament, earned $278,654 and $271,731 respectively.
Tournament debutants Italy celebrated their first victory in a T20 World Cup after defeating Nepal and will take home $256,154.
The same prize amount of $256,154 was also awarded to the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and Nepal.
Meanwhile, Canada, Namibia and Oman received the base participation amount of $225,000 each.
