Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer has officially confirmed the teams and venue for the opening match of the highly anticipated 11th edition of the tournament.
Speaking to the media, Naseer revealed that defending champions Lahore Qalandars will face tournament debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen in the PSL 11 opener. The match will take place in Lahore, with the opening ceremony scheduled ahead of the clash.
PSL 11 is set to run from March 26 to May 3, with the first leg of the tournament expected to feature the majority of matches in Lahore. The full schedule is expected to be announced later this week.
Addressing reports about the possibility of hosting matches abroad, Naseer confirmed that expanding the league’s global reach remains under consideration. While no final decision has been made, he indicated that overseas fixtures could become part of the PSL’s long-term strategy.
“We are becoming a global league, and we are exploring opportunities accordingly. Everything will become clear once the schedule is officially released,” Naseer stated.
He also spoke about the potential of hosting PSL matches in Peshawar, acknowledging concerns about stadium readiness. The league management recently conducted a site visit and identified areas requiring improvement before fixtures could be allocated there.
With official confirmation of the opening fixture and venue now in place, anticipation for PSL 11 continues to build as fans await the complete schedule announcement.
