Sahibzada Farhan climbs to 2nd in ICC T20 rankings

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has moved closer to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings following a series of impressive performances during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Farhan has climbed one place to second in the rankings with 848 rating points, reducing the gap with India’s Abhishek Sharma, who currently holds the number one position. England’s Phil Salt has dropped to third in the latest update.

The Pakistan batter has enjoyed a remarkable tournament and became the only player to score two centuries in a single edition of the T20 World Cup, highlighting his outstanding form during the competition.

While Farhan has surged up the rankings, several other Pakistan players experienced movement in the latest ICC update.

Saim Ayub and Babar Azam each dropped one place to 35th and 37th respectively, while Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha slipped three places to 41st.

Opening batter Fakhar Zaman made one of the biggest gains after his blistering 84-run innings against Sri Lanka in the Super Eight stage, climbing 17 places to 71st with 481 rating points.

In the T20I bowlers’ rankings, Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed climbed two places to third with 736 points, closing in on the top position currently held by India’s Varun Chakravarthy, while Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan remains second.

Spinner Mohammad Nawaz retains his 12th position, pacer Salman Mirza drops three places to 21st, and Shaheen Afridi falls four places to 35th with 602 points.

Further down the list, spinner Usman Tariq holds the 55th position while Sufiyan Muqeem remains in 60th place. Saim Ayub drops one place to 67th.

Leg-spinner Shadab Khan falls seven places to 72nd, pacer Haris Rauf drops three spots to 84th, and Abbas Afridi sits at 98th with 415 points.

In the ICC T20I all-rounders rankings, Saim Ayub drops one spot to third, allowing India’s Hardik Pandya to move up to second while Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza retains the top position.

Mohammad Nawaz climbs one place to eighth, Shadab Khan slips to 22nd, Faheem Ashraf and Salman Ali Agha fall to 55th and 56th respectively, while Shaheen Afridi drops two places to 65th.

Farhan’s strong performances in the tournament have placed him within touching distance of the number one spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings.
