PSL 11 Schedule Revised as PCB Confirms New Plan

PCB announces revised PSL 11 schedule with two host cities

PSL schedule revision has been confirmed after the Pakistan Cricket Board announced a new plan for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League, reducing venues and restructuring the tournament.

The PCB revealed the updated schedule on Sunday following austerity measures introduced in consultation with the government.

Two venues confirmed for entire tournament

In a major change, the number of host cities has been reduced from six to two. All matches will now be played in Lahore and Karachi.

The decision aligns with national resource conservation efforts, with organisers aiming to reduce operational demands linked to travel, logistics and energy usage.

Tournament format and key fixtures

According to the revised PSL schedule, the tournament will feature 44 matches across 39 days, with Lahore and Karachi hosting 22 matches each.

The opening match remains unchanged, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars set to face Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Karachi will host the Qualifier, while Lahore will stage Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2 and the final.

Broadcast focus as fans stay away

With matches set to be played without spectators, the tournament will temporarily adopt a watch-from-home model.

Organisers confirmed enhanced broadcast and production features to improve the viewing experience for fans in Pakistan and globally.

League officials expressed confidence that strong fan interest, combined with improved coverage, could make this one of the most widely watched PSL editions.

Operational changes behind the decision

The PCB acknowledged that stadium crowds would be missed, but highlighted the scale of logistical challenges.

It estimated that around 30,000 spectators and support staff travelling daily over the tournament period would place significant strain on energy resources.

By limiting the competition to two cities, the league expects to reduce transport requirements, operational complexity and overall costs compared to a six-city event.
