Peshawar Zalmi Sign Farhan Yousaf for PSL 11
The Farhan Yousaf signing for PSL 11 has seen Peshawar Zalmi add the Pakistan U19 captain to their squad ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League season.
The 2017 champions confirmed on Saturday that Yousaf has been signed as a direct signing for PSL 11, which is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.
The middle-order batter had gone unsold during the historic PSL players draft held last month but has now earned a late opportunity to feature in the marquee league.
Farhan Yousaf led Pakistan to their second ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup title last year. Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India by 191 runs in the final under his leadership.
Despite his success at youth level, Yousaf remained one of the notable players who did not secure a team during the PSL draft.
However, Peshawar Zalmi have now brought him into their squad as a direct signing.
The franchise did not disclose the financial details of the deal.
Yousaf has played six T20 matches so far, scoring 122 runs at an average of 61 with an impressive strike rate of 196.77. His performances include one half-century.
Peshawar Zalmi announced the signing on X, formerly Twitter.
“Young. Bold. Fearless. Future star. Pakistan U19 captain Farhan Yousaf is all set to don yellow this PSL season,” the franchise wrote while sharing a graphic featuring the young batter.
PSL 11 campaign opener
Peshawar Zalmi will begin their PSL 11 campaign on March 28.
They will face Pindiz at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, which is set to host a Pakistan Super League match for the first time.
