Pakistan Shaheens vs England Lions Series in Abu Dhabi Called Off Amid Security Concerns

Abu Dhabi, 3 March 2026 — The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that the ongoing series between Pakistan Shaheens and England Lions in Abu Dhabi has been officially called off.

The decision was mutually agreed upon after discussions between the ECB and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in response to ongoing security developments in the Middle East region. Given the escalating situation in Abu Dhabi and the wider region, both boards concluded that continuing the series would not be appropriate.

The tour consisted of three T20 matches and five 50-over fixtures, with no further games set to be played.

Player Safety Remains Top Priority

In its statement, the PCB reiterated that the safety, security and wellbeing of players and support staff remain its highest priority. The board confirmed it is in constant contact with team management to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place for the squad’s safe return to Pakistan.

No additional details regarding the security developments have been disclosed at this stage. Further updates are expected once travel plans and logistical arrangements are finalised.
