National T20 Cup Final Postponed After Rain Disruption

Rain delays National T20 Cup 2026 final in Peshawar

National T20 Cup final has been postponed due to persistent rain which forced officials to delay the 2026 title clash between Abbottabad Region and Karachi Region Whites in Peshawar.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the final of the National T20 Cup 2026 could not go ahead at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium due to a waterlogged outfield.

The match, which was scheduled to be played on Thursday, was called off without even the toss taking place as steady rainfall made conditions unplayable. A new date and venue for the final will be announced in due course.

Semi-final also affected by rain

This disruption follows a similar outcome in the second semi-final at the same venue, which was also impacted by rain.

In that fixture, Lahore Whites advanced after their match against Abbottabad was abandoned without a ball being bowled in the second innings.

Before the interruption, Lahore Whites had posted a strong total of 194 for six in their 20 overs.

Openers Mohammad Ikhlaq and Mohammad Faiq provided a solid start, with Ikhlaq scoring 42 off 35 balls, including six fours.

Mohammad Imran then played a crucial innings, remaining unbeaten on 62 off 31 deliveries, hitting three fours and five sixes.

Final lineup confirmed despite washouts

Abbottabad’s chase of 195 could not begin due to persistent rain, resulting in the match being abandoned.

As a result, Lahore Whites progressed to the final based on their superior group-stage performance.

Led by Fakhar Zaman, Lahore Whites topped their group with three wins from four matches, collecting six points and maintaining a net run rate of 1.600.

They are now set to face Karachi Region Whites in the rescheduled final of the National T20 Cup 2026, with the PCB expected to confirm the revised schedule soon.
