Muhammad Shahzad joins Multan Sultans for PSL 11

The Multan Sultans squad has been strengthened ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 with the addition of emerging all-rounder Muhammad Shahzad.

The franchise confirmed Shahzad’s signing through its official social media channels in a press release ahead of the upcoming PSL season.

In the announcement, the franchise expressed pride in bringing the young all-rounder into the squad for the new campaign.

Rising talent from South Punjab

Muhammad Shahzad hails from Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan) and his signing highlights Multan Sultans’ continued focus on identifying and developing cricketing talent from South Punjab.

The franchise noted that Shahzad’s arrival reflects its commitment to nurturing promising players from the region and providing them with a platform in the Pakistan Super League.

Shahzad’s T20 record

The 22-year-old previously represented Islamabad United during PSL 10, where he featured in six matches.

Overall, Shahzad has played 23 T20 matches, scoring 370 runs at a strike rate of 126.71.

Franchise owner backs young all-rounder

Following the signing, Multan Sultans owner Gohar Shah praised Shahzad’s potential and described him as an exciting prospect for the future.

He emphasised that the franchise values players who understand the identity of the team and represent the spirit of South Punjab.

Gohar Shah also stated that Shahzad possesses the talent to become one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket and that the franchise is committed to supporting his development and providing opportunities for him to grow.

PSL 11 tournament details

The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League will begin on 26 March.

The opening match of the tournament will feature defending champions Lahore Qalandars against the new franchise Hyderabad Kingsmen.

A total of 44 matches will be played in the tournament, including the final.
