The ICC has confirmed the match officials for the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with the two knockout fixtures set to take place in Kolkata and Mumbai this week.
For the first semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday, 4 March, Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf will serve as the on-field umpires.
They will be supported by Nitin Menon as third umpire and Rod Tucker as fourth umpire, while Javagal Srinath has been appointed match referee.
The second semi-final, scheduled for Thursday, 5 March in Mumbai, will see India face England in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.
Chris Gaffaney and Allahuddien Paleker have been named as the on-field umpires for the match. Adrian Holdstock will serve as third umpire, with Paul Reiffel appointed as fourth umpire. Andy Pycroft will take on the role of match referee.
The appointments bring together some of the most experienced officials in international cricket as the tournament heads into its decisive stage, with both matches expected to draw significant global attention.
With a place in the final on the line, the spotlight will not only be on the players but also on the officiating teams tasked with overseeing two of the biggest fixtures of the tournament.
