Karachi Whites secured a convincing victory over Faisalabad in the National T20 Cup 2026, chasing down the target with ease in their opening match on Saturday at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.

Batting first, Faisalabad managed to post 171/7 in 20 overs, largely thanks to a superb innings from Muhammad Awais Zafar, who remained unbeaten on 81 off 52 deliveries, striking seven fours and three sixes.

Faisalabad started steadily as openers Muhammad Faizan and Awais Zafar added 34 runs for the first wicket.

Faizan looked aggressive during his brief stay, scoring 30 off 13 balls with four boundaries and two sixes before being dismissed by Saim Ayub.

Faisalabad then lost momentum quickly. Attiq ur Rehman was dismissed for five off seven balls, caught off Muhammad Hamza, while Asim Ali Nasir was run out for a first-ball duck, leaving the side struggling at 39/3 in four overs.

Mubasir Khan soon followed after scoring seven off 13 deliveries, again falling to Saim Ayub.

With the innings under pressure, Awais Zafar and Irfan Khan Niazi rebuilt with a vital 70-run partnership, pushing Faisalabad past the 100-run mark.

The stand ended in the 15.2 over when Muhammad Umar dismissed Irfan after his solid 36 off 23 balls, which included four boundaries.

Faisalabad lost two more wickets late in the innings as Saqib Khan removed Asif Ali (3 off 5) and Muhammad Umar dismissed Ahmed Safi Abdullah (2).

Despite the late setbacks, Awais Zafar’s composed knock ensured Faisalabad finished on 171/7.

For Karachi Whites, Saim Ayub and Muhammad Umar picked up two wickets each, while Muhammad Hamza and Saqib Khan claimed one apiece.

Karachi Whites complete comfortable chase

In reply, Karachi Whites chased down the target comfortably, reaching 172/2 in 17.1 overs.

The chase was powered by an excellent unbeaten knock from Abdullah Fazal, who scored 76 off 51 balls, hitting three fours and five sixes.

He received strong support from Khawaja Nafay, who smashed 48 off just 20 deliveries, including six fours and two sixes, giving the innings crucial momentum.

Saim Ayub also contributed 33 off 25 balls, striking three fours and a six before being dismissed by Zeeshan.

Meanwhile, Saud Shakeel added six runs before falling to Zaman Khan.

Karachi Whites eventually reached the target with eight wickets in hand, sealing a comfortable victory in their National T20 Cup 2026 campaign opener.
