Atiq ur Rehman scores 72 for Faisalabad against Peshawar

The Faisalabad vs Peshawar clash in the National T20 Cup 2026 ended with Faisalabad securing a narrow 15-run victory in the 13th match of the tournament at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar on Friday.

Afaq Afridi’s four-wicket haul combined with a blistering half-century from Atiq-ur-Rehman helped Faisalabad defend their total and claim an important win.

After being asked to bat first by Peshawar captain Iftikhar Ahmed, Faisalabad posted a competitive total of 170/9 in their 20 overs.

Opening batter Atiq-ur-Rehman led the scoring with an aggressive 72 from just 44 deliveries. His innings included 10 boundaries and earned him the Player of the Match award.

Rehman received support from captain Muhammad Irfan Khan, who contributed 32 runs, while all-rounder Mubasir Khan added a useful 27.

For Peshawar, Usman Khan and Mohammad Nawaz took two wickets each. Ihsanullah, Mohammad Shoaib and Israrullah picked up one wicket apiece.

Afaq Afridi leads Faisalabad bowling attack

Chasing a target of 171, Peshawar were bowled out for 155 in 19.5 overs, suffering their second defeat in three matches in the National T20 Cup 2026.

Middle-order batter Israrullah top-scored for the hosts with a fighting 47 from 40 deliveries. Nabi Gul also played a key role with 43 from 39 balls.

Mohammad Imran Jnr remained unbeaten on 18, while opener Abuzar Tariq and captain Iftikhar Ahmed contributed 11 runs each.

Afaq Afridi was the standout bowler for Faisalabad, finishing with figures of 4/38 in 3.5 overs.

He was supported by Shehzad Gul, who claimed three wickets. Zaman Khan and Momin Qamar also chipped in with one wicket each to complete Faisalabad’s narrow win.
