GT Continue Winning Run as Gill, Buttler Down LSG

Shubman Gill batting during Gujarat Titans win over LSG in IPL 2026

Gujarat Titans continued their strong run in IPL 2026 as Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler guided them to a composed seven-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants.

After restricting LSG to 164 for 8, Gujarat chased down the target comfortably, finishing on 165 for 3 in 18.4 overs with Gill and Buttler leading the charge.

Prasidh leads disciplined bowling effort

Prasidh Krishna delivered a standout performance with the ball, finishing with 4 for 28. His mix of hard lengths and slower variations proved decisive in breaking LSG’s momentum.

He was well supported by Mohammed Siraj, who struck early, and Ashok Sharma, who controlled the death overs. Together, they ensured LSG never built sustained partnerships.

Aiden Markram top-scored with 30, while LSG’s innings struggled for fluency throughout.

LSG lose momentum in middle overs

LSG started aggressively but lost key wickets at regular intervals. Mitchell Marsh fell early after a quick start, while Rishabh Pant was dismissed attempting to counterattack.

Prasidh removed both Markram and Ayush Badoni in similar fashion as LSG slipped to 74 for 4 in the ninth over.

Nicholas Pooran could not accelerate, scoring 19 off 21 balls before falling to Prasidh. Mukul added 18 off 14 but failed to convert his start, despite surviving an early run-out chance and a blow to the helmet from a 150.2kph delivery.

Late contributions from Mohammed Shami and George Linde helped LSG reach 164, but the total appeared below par.

Gill anchors chase with authority

Chasing 165, Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a fluent half-century off 34 balls. He dominated the early exchanges, particularly against Mohammed Shami, striking three fours and a six in one over to seize control.

Gill’s strokeplay was precise and varied, helping Gujarat build a strong platform.

Buttler seals the chase

Jos Buttler continued his excellent form, following up his previous half-century with another match-winning knock of 60.

After an early reprieve when he was dropped on 12, Buttler took full advantage, dismantling the bowling attack and reaching his 100th T20 fifty in just 29 balls.

His aggressive approach ensured the chase never drifted off course. Though Gill fell late in the innings, Buttler remained unbeaten to see Gujarat home comfortably.

What this means

Gujarat Titans have now secured back-to-back wins in IPL 2026, combining disciplined bowling with a reliable top order. The performance highlights their balance as a side. For Lucknow Super Giants, the defeat underlines the importance of converting starts and building partnerships in competitive totals.
