
Naseem Shah Ruled Out of PSL 11 with Side Injury
RawalPindiz have been dealt a major blow in PSL 11, with Naseem Shah ruled out for the foreseeable future after sustaining a side injury. Naseem Shah’s injury comes at a difficult time in the tournament as the fast bowler is set to miss a significant portion of the season.
The franchise confirmed the development in an official statement, adding that his recovery is being closely monitored.
Injury setback during Karachi clash
Naseem Shah picked up the injury during RawalPindiz’s recent match against Karachi Kings.
Team management stated that the pacer will remain sidelined for the foreseeable future, although a return later in the tournament remains possible depending on his rehabilitation progress and medical clearance.
The franchise reiterated their full support for the right-arm fast bowler, describing his presence in the squad as invaluable and expressing hope that he will return stronger.
Difficult start to PSL 11
The injury follows a challenging start to the tournament for Naseem Shah.
The 25-year-old managed just one wicket against Karachi Kings and went wicketless in his opening match, conceding 51 runs.
Earlier controversy and fine
Before the injury setback, Naseem Shah was already in the spotlight due to a disciplinary issue at the start of PSL 11.
He was found in breach of several clauses of the PCB central contract and social media guidelines following a personal hearing conducted by a three-member Disciplinary Committee.
The issue stemmed from the opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium, where Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz attended as the guest of honour.
During the event, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi welcomed her and introduced her to franchise owners and players. Shortly after, a now-deleted post from Naseem Shah’s X account questioned her treatment during the ceremony.
Naseem later clarified that his account had been hacked and described the incident as a security breach. Despite this, the PCB imposed a fine of Rs20 million.

Naseem Shah’s absence is a significant setback for RawalPindiz, particularly in a tournaments like the PSL, injuries to key bowlers can disrupt team balance and strategy, placing added pressure on replacements and the remaining bowling unit as the competition progresses.
